Anecdotal: Euphorbia is an extremely dangerous toxin handled only by the most skilled practitioners. The sap will literally eat away the skin. A small basketful of bruised leaves dumped into a body of water will poison fish for several miles. No great surprise that Euphorbia is used to make poison arrows. The spirit within Euphorbia is invoked to exorcise the most virulent of malevolent spirits. But I can’t emphasize enough that there are many other unrelated species that are not only relatively more safe but equally effective for the job. This is perhaps one plant left to the wilderness world where its medicine probably does its greatest good.
