Anecdotal: There is much already known about Petroselinum so I hope this isn’t entirely redundant. The association of Petroselinum with vision seeking relates to its connection to foretelling the future especially as it relates to the spirit of death. I often wonder if Petroselinum was planted on graves as a remembrance or as an instrument for placating or protecting against that spirit. It was certainly believed a facilitator of new beginnings as well as a guardian against illness or misfortune. Petroselinum was carried or put in bath water for these reasons. At the same time it was never brought to the table because of its association with oblivion and death. In contrast some believed Petroselinum was an aphrodisiac, never left out to insure that the spirit of love remained present. This too could be an association with oblivion and death, orgasm, especially for men, was considered an aspect of death. The scent of Petroselinum was believed to improve health and its presence facilitated strength and the spirit of victory. The spirit within Petroselinum was invoked to resolve issues of expression, the loss of personal shields of protection and spiritual pain. It breaks down barriers, especially for women. Petroselinum is a formidable incarnant for addressing endopsychic wounds pertaining to the any of the issues mentioned.
