Name: Scheuchzeria palustris
Toxicity: not known
Common Name: Rannoch Rush
Continent: Europe
Anecdotal: Scheuchzeria can be woven into ritual baskets. Sadly it is a species that really shouldn’t be harvested ever and perhaps some effort must be made to try to cultivate it. Now virtually extinct it can only be found in the pools and hollows of undisturbed, pristine sphagnum bogs. Scheuchzeria is a keeper of abundance, considered a sacred first food and a guardian against famine.
